Henry
A. Harkey serves as a managing partner of the firm. After more than
30 years practicing law, Henry has built lasting professional
relationships with numerous corporate, individual and family
clients, including privately-owned T. R. Lawing Realty, Inc.,
Pennsylvania Wood, Inc., and Tri-Square Construction, Inc.
Henry began practicing law as an Assistant District Attorney in
Mecklenburg County in 1975 upon graduating from law school at Wake
Forest University. He prosecuted cases for a year before joining the
firm his father founded 26 years earlier.
"I do things by-the-book and strive for accuracy in every matter I
handle," Henry says. "My clients appreciate that I am thorough,
respond quickly to their requests, and put their interests first.
I'm a counselor to them as well as an attorney."
Henry is involved in the Charlotte civic and financial community. He
served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Park Meridian Bank.
He is also a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Charlotte
Country Day School, where his two sons graduated. He is a former
Scoutmaster and currently serves as President of the Mecklenburg
County Council, Boy Scouts of America, having received its highest
local volunteer honor in 1987, the Silver Beaver Award. Henry is an
elder at Myers Park Presbyterian Church and previously served on the
Mecklenburg County Bar's Executive Committee.
Henry was born in Charlotte in 1949 and earned a bachelor's degree
from Washington & Lee University in 1971. He rose to the rank of
Captain while serving in the U. S. Army. Henry's wife,
Catherine, is the Director of Handbell Ministry at Myers Park
Presbyterian Church, and they have two college graduate sons, Jon
and Chris. |
